Introduction

The success of any given country often depends on the efforts of the government. There are several ways that a government can ensure a country progress and becomes successful including offering opportunities to investors through tax reduction. In addition, a government can provide opportunities such as grants for the people to invest, formulate policies that promote equality and freedom for the masses.

Investors, especially foreign investors are often scared of investing in countries where rules and regulations are stringent on the investors (Kettl, 2000). What a government can do is to ensure that the investors are attracted through reduction of taxes, providing them with incentives which will in turn influence them to invest in the country. Furthermore, local investors are also important and a government must recognize them by providing them with tax reliefs (McMillan, & Woodruff, 2003).

A government also can promote success in a country through the laws and policies that it formulates. It is important that a government should formulate policies that promote equality among the citizens and allows people to have access to the different resources within the country (McMillan, & Woodruff, 2003). This promotes innovation and creativity which in turn drives success of a country. In addition, the policies of the government (Kettl, 2000), should allow the masses to exercise their freedom and enjoy their rights which will in turn encourage the people to get involved in the development and growth of a country.

Conclusion

A government has the sole role of providing direction and influencing the success of a country. As such, this role can be fulfilled through attracting investors, providing country residents with equal opportunities to exercise their innovation and creativity. In addition, offering incentives and enacting policies and laws that promote investments are important for success of a nation.

The benefits of study abroad indeed justify any potential difficulties: an opportunity to study a new culture and language, make new friends, and explore sights unseen is an irreplaceable experience. Before studying abroad, a typical student’s experience of her chosen foreign language is limited to the classroom, creating a sort of artificiality to the language; it is nearly impossible to fully realize and appreciate the beauty of a language without hearing it in action in its native land. There is something about living, speaking and breathing, for example, Spanish in Spain that removes that very artificiality surrounding learning the language in a classroom. The student will come to see that language not just as not just a catalogue of verb tenses, but something the man reading the newspaper on the subway or the woman drinking a cocktail at the bar uses to talk about both the mundane and the extraordinary.

Furthermore, studying abroad provides the opportunity to experience a contrast of cultures in an unknown or new environment. Living independently in an unfamiliar land provokes a kind of culture shock, immersing the student into a culture that will inspire her to more fully empathize with her chosen language of study, to appreciate the multi-faceted nature of an increasingly global world. When then faced with the mission of using her foreign language both to engage in intellectual challenges in the classroom and to complete the tasks of daily life,  naturally, though slowly, she will come to “think” in her foreign language. Such an experience will help forge new bond between the language and the student, guiding her transformation into a more native speaker.

There are different stages that human beings go through as they grow from toddlers to adults. Such include the recognition of images and voices. There is also the stage of self-discovery and generation of own ideas. Of all the stages, the early adulthood stage is the most defining in one’s life. It is during this stage that much is learnt and carried to adulthood. I strongly agree that children learn best by observing the behavior of adults and copying it.

It is unquestionable that children acquire knowledge by watching the behavior of adults and copying it. When people say that adults should be good role models to their children, it means that they should significantly participate in shaping their character. The parents are the closest people when children are born and later on, there develops the interaction with teachers and other people around them. It is almost a general truth that what you see, you tend to copy.

Take for instance a father who has obsession for playing and watching football. His son will most likely be a fan of the game and will constantly be following his father to watch matches. Children learn to be hardworking from their industrious parents and they grow all their lives knowing the benefits of hard work. Observation has been proved to be one of the best ways of learning.

It is not always that children learn superior activities from the adults as the negatives chip in once in a while. Issues of smoking and drug addiction are some of the negatives learnt from the adults. The attitude and character in most cases are made up by what children learn and observe from the adults.

For the past several decades, teaching methods for preparing students have been revolutionized along with changes in technology and teaching ideology, explaining diverse teaching methods in various schools. Since the beginning of grade or grammar school, students had been sent through several channels of reading and writing. But abstract adeptness such as teamwork, critical thinking, and practical applications do challenge students frequently. In the subsequent sections, a few recommendations entailing abstract adeptness are listed to provide more insight on how to prepare students for 21st century challenges.

An ancient teaching etiquette that has not been openly emphasized for several years is examining students’ senses of learning approaches. Diverse students have preferable learning approaches by visual or audio sensory perception that may enhance critical thinking. Understanding these perceptions are critical when applying real world practices (Beers, 2013). Deriving the senses that students are accustomed to is a learning path they shall acquire at a younger age especially during the students’ formative years.

Teamwork and interpersonal communication may enhance students working with other personnel in projects that call for team membership. When students journey into the real world, they shall be prepared to work with personnel in firm in which they land employment and where firms help students associate what they learned in school to apply newly found knowledge in the physical world (Walker, 2012). Students will be able to recognize challenges and deal with them especially when working for larger companies where teamwork and communication is essential.

For diversity on working on real world projects, intrapersonal skills such as resiliency and contentiousness skills are encouraging when students are faced with challenges on their own when least expected (Nicols, 2013). Intrapersonal skills prepare students for challenges such as when projects do not manifest as planned or when student in the workforce must deal with irate clients.

In the current world, it is very necessary for young children to start experiencing foreign language instructions as early as kindergarten. If foreign language instructions are taught to children as early as this, it creates a high probability of the young children gaining best negative outcomes (Nikolov, 2009). Therefore, I agree that foreign language instructions ought to begin in kindergarten. The following reasons expand on why children in kindergarten ought to start practicing foreign language instructions (Kumon, 2011).

Broadening professionalism- Studying foreign language instructions at an early stage as kindergarten helps in expanding a child’s horizon in terms of profession. With increase in globalization in the current world, there is a high demand of multilingual as well as bilingual individuals in the society today (Nikolov, 2009).

Intellectual prospect- At a young age, learning foreign language instructions enables the child’s brain to easily learn the language. This is because the young brain has limitless capacity and hence will have a greater ability to understand the language without confusion (Nelly, 2014). Through processes of writing, listening, reading and speaking foreign language, the young child will experience development of his/her brain through coding and decoding processes (Nikolov, 2009).

Social interaction- Social networks are very important especially in the modern world. If children learn foreign language in kindergarten, they enter a broader cultural world and in turn they develop greater cross-cultural knowledge. This will enable children make friends, sympathize and identify others who speak the additional language (Nikolov, 2009).

In conclusion, we can agree therefore that there is more importance in starting foreign language instructions at an early stage for the better of the child’s future.

Greek mythology is a body composed of teachings and myths of ancients Greeks about their gods, nature of the world and heroes. The subject that belongs to Greek mythology is still at a greater extent taught today. Not just during literature lessons that are done in schools but also form part of history teachings curriculum. Some people do wonder why these Greek myths are given such a huge space in our modern day. However, if you look at the number of ancient Greek movies today, everyone will conclude how the world is fascinated with Greek mythology.

In fact, these stories were actually written long time ago by very wise men who played a key role in giving shape to modern thinking. The likes of Aristotle and Sophocles among others were not just telling stories, their wisdom still continue to inspire many generations today and even the future generations. Greek myths have stood test of time. Indeed, the myths are not just epic stories of goddesses but have deeper meanings ( Matyszak 2010). Thus a deeper scrutiny of Greek myths will actually reveal philosophies, morals and also warnings. They were written and told with a reason and a higher purpose not for entertainment. All these tales have served as an instrument to impact knowledge into the lives of people and give hope for the future. Again make them understand the difference between being on the right and vice versa. They have continued to shed more light on the way people should behave, remain humble and never assume of being immortal (Hesiod 2012). Anyone living today who have heard or read of Greek myths will automatically be inspired and change the way of thinking

The tales of ancient Greek are simply good and thus prove their relevance today.  They were actually written long time ago and their message still remain strong and shape modern way of thinking both in school and outside.

Although cars have revolutionized our mobility and world operations, however, their environmental harms are plenty. The developing countries are already low on their environment protection level. Therefore, the situation gets exacerbated there with an increasing use of cars. This paper questions and analyzes whether there should be limits on car ownership in developing countries? It is worth considering that although, the environmental effects of cars are so harmful that the use of cars should be restrained, however, it is also noted that if Green alternatives can be employed, limitations should be taken off.

Acid rain and greenhouse effects are among the popular and most destructive harms caused by cars (Brems, 2010). The fuel that cars burn for energy leaves harmful gases in the air which leads to health and environmental degradation. Acid rain is one of the major adverse effects. Similarly, greenhouse effects make the situation worse. If such harm continues, the situation would keep getting worse and destroy the existence of life on planet Earth (Joireman et al., 2004). Joireman et al. (2004) further argue that a life-preserving, visionary and futurist approach demands that the use of cars be limited so that the environment could be protected. Therefore, cars ownership ought to be regularized at governmental level in developing countries.

However, it is imperative that one looks for alternatives. Many environment friendly cars are being made these days which are environment friendly. Although, these cars turn out to be quite expensive, however, since they save the environment, so their use should not be limited and they should be promoted as much as possible (Coad et al., 2009).

In a nutshell, environment destructive cars’ use should be limited while environment friendly cars should be made more affordable and accessible and their use should not be restrained.

Introduction

Media has unceasingly encompassed and defined society and has progressed with technology. The old-style forms of media propaganda encompassing newspaper, television, mail, and posters remain as effectual as before the initiation of modern methods. Web sites, email, online social media, and e-zines have replaced costly media production like photographic paper and magazines (Pinker, 2010). Media impact on the society ranges from social to political sectors; it touches on each sector in a variety of ways as discussed in this paper.

Social Impact

Media conveys and shapes opinions of the society on subjects such as culture, business, sports, sexual orientations, religions, races, and politics. It enables the citizens of any given country to practice on the freedom of expression as well as freedom of speech. Factually, media does more good than harm to the society since its positive aspect outweighs negative effects that may be observed (Crowder, 2013).

It can be hectic to control internet based media, however, it is has been fruitfully enforced in China. A good instance is how a culture/segment in a certain race could represent views of the public concerning that particular race. This is common in the case of undesirable essentials of that culture.

Political Impact

Social impacts are broader than political impacts of the media. However, it is possible for social effect elements to have a “leakage” into political. It is evident when media decides to be manipulative by favouring only a single side of the political divide (Pinker, 2010). Moreover, the media can present facts in a way it feels by filtering out the inauspicious elements if they feel that it will damage or change the consumers’ point of view.

We cannot say there is a permanent retirement age for employees considering their talents, effectiveness and the quality results they deliver. The 65 years retirement age limit is a regulation in the employment contract set by nations and companies forcing people to stop working. However, there are calls to retire compulsorily considering many unemployed people or low-level position frustrations as stated in Ministry of Manpower (2015).

Age only is no assurance of ability. We may say that old workers at late 60s are better off running families, countries or corporations, but the same individuals have massive amounts of knowledge and experience which can be absent to a company if they are made to retire (Schill & Anita, 2011). Their ability is crucial in that they are exceptionally loyal employees and are more eager to implement company policies than younger less dedicated staff.

Younger workers also have more experience or skilled than elderly staff, who may have been static in one part or unit for most of their working lives (Markusen 2006). Having enforced retirement allows innovations in an organization. Also, without age restrictions, however arbitrary, many people would endlessly work because they do not have any other plans or roles. Hence getting older people to work indefinitely is not always a good strategy. According to Catherine (2014), the society should reward them for their works effort by giving them substantial pensions and the independence to enjoy their leisure.

Retirement can affect the individuals’ liberty and right to work as outlined by Greenhouse (2008). It makes them feel that being forced to resign or retire at 65 indicates that the society values less their participation and that the productively useful life is over. Without robbing the community of outstanding individuals, experience, and insights, workers should be given more flexibility and choice over their retirement age (Atkinson, 1984).

In the early days, men dwelt in small villages or clans which were small clearings within forests. The other sections of the forests were preserved for agriculture and respected as a home for the wild animals they hunted for game meat. However, as the clans and villages expanded, so did the need for more land to settle in and even greater demand for land for resources and food. The age of exploration saw man racing to obtain land beyond the seas. However, soon after the age of conquest, it became inevitable that the available land could not meet the ever growing need hence the shift in attention to the forests to satisfy the increasing demand (Godfray et al., 2010). Therefore, such led to the inevitable destruction of the world’s forest.

The ever increasing human population does not help the situation. The 20th century saw a 264% growth in global population from 1.65 billion to 6 billion. The United Nation’s estimates for the year 2030 are about 8.5 billion people (Nations, 2015). Moreover, the increase in medicinal knowledge has led to decreased mortality rates since proper health care has eliminated illnesses that could have otherwise reduced the human population. Therefore, fewer people die leading to increased need for food and land as a consequence (Godfray et al., 2010).

In conclusion, the world’s forest are growing arithmetically while the human population increases exponentially. The resulting increase in demand for food and resources spells doom for our forests and unless we can find an alternative settlement beside the Earth, we stand a genuine risk of destroying the world’s forests.
